This 39-year-old basketball player announced his retirement via a video which is uploaded to a social media site Twitter. "We managed to do it. 19 years. I want to thank a lot to you. That's why I first told you, I'll retire. Thank you, I will soon speak with you, 'Shaq wrote in his message.
With the 2.16 meters tall and 147 pounds weight, Shaq became a scourge in the world of basketball. Shaq was packing average 23.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game throughout his career. He entered 15 times All-Star team and he is a part of the United States national team that won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
He has scored 28,596 points during his career and it makes him as a fifth player who can make a big point in NBA history.
Responding to the retirement of Shaq, Miami Heats star LeBron James writes in his Twitter account, "amazing career of Shaq Diesel!"

O'Neal went into the NBA after the Orlando Magic recruited him from Louisiana State University in 1992. After joining the Los Angeles Lakers on a free agent in 1996, Shaq always became the NBA champions with Kobe Bryant. Shaq brought the Lakers won the NBA three times in succession from the 1999 season.
